Disquiet Junto Project 0700: View Frame
Dear Members of the Disquiet Junto,
Wow, so we somehow hit 700 consecutive Disquiet Junto projects earlier this week, and that tops off a great run of the “trio sequence,” which concluded on Monday (with a straggler or two afterward). Perhaps because we’re now less than a year from the 750th project, the 700th feels like a minor milestone, but it’s a milestone nonethelss. Inspired by the sense of community that arises during the trios project, this week’s project suggests that participants give each other a little glimpse of their world.
On the topic of community: I had a great time a week ago, last Thursday night, giving a presentation about the Disquiet Junto at Mission Synths here in San Francisco, as part of an event put together by Dani Derks. It was a wonderful evening, with lots of cool work shared.
And that covers it. There are two more collaborations in the coming month or so with Musikfestival Bern, plus some interesting projects involving voice, liminal space, and sine waves, among other things.

Disquiet Junto Project 0700: View Frame
The Assignment: Share the view and some sounds inspired by the view.
Step 1: Take a photo out your window, with a little bit of the frame in view. Show people a glimpse of your world.
Step 2: Record a short, simple piece of music inspired (or otherwise informed) by what you see.
Tasks Upon Completion:
Label: Include “disquiet0700” (no spaces/quotes) in the name of your track.
Upload: Post your track to a public account (SoundCloud preferred but by no means required). It’s best to focus on one track, but if you post more than one, clarify which is the “main” rendition.

Discuss: Listen to and comment on the other tracks.
Additional Details:
Length: The length is up to you. Brief can be neighborly.
Deadline: Monday, June 2, 2025, 11:59pm (that is: just before midnight) wherever you are.
