Disquiet Junto Project 0712: Zebra Code

This shows a zebra code, or bar codem plus the name and number of the project

Dear Members of the Disquiet Junto,

This week’s project arose when Jason Richarson (aka Bassling) proposed we try something out inspired by an article, linked to below, from Boing Boing.

Sadly, it looks like I won’t be making it to Musikfestival Bern next month. There’s still a tiny chance, but I got sick toward the end of the summer holiday, and while I’m all better now, I have a bunch of work coming up, so I think the timing won’t make sense. I’m hopeful for next year, and for other trips.

Thanks, as always, for your generosity with your time, creativity, and curiosity.

Best from San Francisco,

Marc Weidenbaum

Disquiet Junto Project 0712: Zebra Code
The Assignment: What rhythm do you hear in a bar code?

Step 1: Locate something you purchased or received that has a zebra code, or bar code, on the packaging.

Step 2: Interpret the bar code from Step 1 as a rhythm.

Step 3: Make music using the rhythm from Step 2.

This project was proposed thanks to Jason Richardson, who shared this Boing Boing post:
