Disquiet Junto Project 0749: And a Three (3/3)

Dear Members of the Disquiet Junto,
Next week we’ll do the 750th consecutive weekly Disquiet Junto music project, and as excited as I am for that milestone, first comes the heightened activity of the final third of the semi-annual “trios sequence.”
This past week, 75 (!) unique duets were asynchronously constructed from all but 7 of 54 solos contributed the week prior to that. Now this week, many of those 75 duets will become trios.
As I mentioned in last week’s email, if you are a new (or recent) subscriber to this email announcement list, I want to reinforce that these trios projects have uncharacteristically long instructions. Every week, each Disquiet Junto project is designed to be self-contained: you can show up, do it, and move on. That said, this week’s project is predicated on the two weeks before it. Along with some unique goals and procedures for these three projects in a row, it all makes the instructions kinda long. Sorry about that. If you have questions, I’m at marc@disquiet.com.
Third, as noted in the instructions: You can contribute more than one track this week. In normal circumstances, Junto projects have a one-track-per-participant limit. This week, though, you can do (up to) three tracks (if you choose to — one is fine!). For the second and third, should you elect to do them, it’s appreciated that you try to work with duets that no one else has used yet. An updated list in maintained in this Google Drive document of what has been utilized.
Note: The numbers of tracks per project cited above are in flux, as a few duets popped up (for which I’m grateful) after the Monday deadline. This is the Way. As I mention in the instructions: The goal is for many as people as possible to benefit from the experience of being part of an asynchronous collaboration. That, foremost, is the spirit of this project.
And that covers it.
Thanks, as always, for your generosity with your time, creativity, and curiosity.
Best from San Francisco,
Marc Weidenbaum

Disquiet Junto Project 0749: And a Three (3/3)
The Assignment: Record the final third of a trio.
Please note: While this project is the third of a semi-annual three-part sequence that unfolds over the course of three consecutive weeks, starting two weeks ago, you can participate in any or all three of those weekly parts.
There are two versions of the instructions for this week’s project — one very short, the other very long, should clarifications prove useful. (You can do three tracks this week, if you’d like, just be sure to read the longer set of instructions if you elect to.)
. . .
Very short version (roughly 25 words): Select a track from last week’s duet project (disquiet.com/0748) and add a third part dead center between the left and right stereo channels to complete a trio.
. . .
For the very long version (roughly 650 words), visit the project at disquiet.com/0749.
. . .
Tasks Upon Completion:
Label: Include “disquiet0749” (no spaces/quotes) in the name of your track.
Upload: A person participating in the Disquiet Junto should post only one, two, or three tracks this week (SoundCloud account preferred but not required). If you feel inspired to post more than three tracks (whether to a single account or across multiple accounts), you should clarify which are the “main” renditions for consideration by fellow members and (if on SoundCloud) for inclusion in the SoundCloud playlist.
Share: Post your track and a description/explanation at https://llllllll.co/t/disquiet-junto-project-0749-and-a-three-3-3/
Discuss: Listen to and comment on the other tracks.
Additional Details:
Length: The length is up to you. Stick close to the length of the track yours adds to.
Deadline: Monday, May 11, 2026, 11:59pm (that is: just before midnight) wherever you are.
