Disquiet Junto Project 0775: Off the Clock

Dear Members of the Disquiet Junto,
I hope this note finds you well, or best you can be. This week’s project should take roughly an hour, as it’s defined by using time as a constraint, and the allotted time for the project is four stages, each 15 minutes in length. I don’t mention this in the instructions, but you might consider not doing this project in one sitting. You might do each of its four sections at different times between the launch of the project and the project’s deadline, which is 11:59pm (wherever you are) on Monday, November 9. That said, the project is certainly doable in one roughly hour-long sitting, as well.
And that covers it. Thanks, as always, for your generosity with your time, creativity, and curiosity.
Best from San Francisco,
Marc Weidenbaum

PS: If you’re new to the Junto, or haven’t read these in a while, please (re)familiarize yourself with the rules of llllllll.co, aka Lines. There’s no requirement in the Disquiet Junto to post tracks to Lines, but if you do, the community rules of the message board of course apply to what you post. Thanks.

Disquiet Junto Project 0775: Off the Clock
The Assignment: Make music quickly.
The essence of this project is to just get something done. Use the time constraints to your advantage.
Step 1: Spent 15 minutes arranging what is required for you to record something, whatever set of instruments and support technology might be required. You’ll be recording a sketch, an idea, something loose. Take the pressure off.
Step 2: Spent 15 minutes recording something, just something that comes naturally. You might record for that entire period of time and edit it down. You might do a few shorter parts with the intent to combine them.
Step 3: Spend 15 minutes listening back.
Step 4: Spend 15 minutes editing your track and doing any post-production.
Tasks Upon Completion:
Label: Include “disquiet0775” (no spaces/quotes) in the name of your track.
Upload: A person participating in the Disquiet Junto should post only one track per weekly project (SoundCloud account preferred but not required). If on occasion you feel inspired to post more than one track (whether to a single account or across multiple accounts), you should clarify which is the “main” rendition for consideration by fellow members and (if on SoundCloud) for inclusion in the SoundCloud playlist.
Share: Post your track and a description/explanation at https://llllllll.co/t/disquiet-junto-project-0775-off-the-clock/
Discuss: Listen to and comment on the other tracks.
Additional Details:
Length: The length is up to you. It will almost certainly be under 15 minutes, by definition, perhaps more like 2 to 4 minutes.
Deadline: Monday, November 9, 2026, 11:59pm (that is: just before midnight) wherever you are.
